Why I set up LETiQ: a Q&A with Claudia Brown

18 June 20264 min read

A candid Q&A about why the industry needed a new kind of Level 3 course, and what it takes to get agents through it.

Let's go back to the start. What made you set up LETiQ?

I spent years at GKJ Consultants teaching the Level 3 Technical Award, going into agencies and delivering the course in person. That experience shaped everything. We made the material easy to understand and easy to learn, with a tutor there beside you to make sure it genuinely landed, not just covered, but properly understood. LETiQ is built on that same foundation, and then goes a step further. We wrap that in person teaching in comprehensive online support, including workbooks, quizzes, videos and podcasts, so the learning continues between sessions and you can revisit anything, anytime, at your own pace. The human contact and the real teaching behind it are second to none, and I wanted to carry that forward into something of my own.

There's no shortage of Level 3 providers. Why should someone choose LETiQ?

A handful of reasons, and each one carries more weight than it might first appear. We're a Propertymark Qualifications Recognised Centre, whose qualification is awarded by Propertymark Qualifications, an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation, so what you earn with us actually stands for something. We teach live, in a supported cohort, online or in your own office, which means the course bends around your working week instead of the other way round. And every session is led by people who've genuinely done the job, not just studied it. Those things together are what set us apart.

You quote a 96% pass rate within six months for learners who complete the cohort. How is that possible?

It comes down to structure. We don't drop a mountain of legislation on your desk and leave you to it. Every topic is broken into pieces you can actually absorb, backed up with real world scenarios, practice questions and readiness checks that show you precisely where you stand before exam day. There's no crossing your fingers and hoping. By the time you sit it, you already know you're ready.

Who is the course really for?

Anyone in lettings or sales who needs to qualify, whether you're brand new and laying your foundations, or you've spent years in the business and simply want a certification that reflects what you already know how to do. With new legislation on the way requiring agents to hold a Level 3 qualification, now is the smart time to move, rather than scrambling once it's mandatory.

What would you say to someone who's still weighing it up?

The agents who qualify early are the ones who'll be in demand the moment the rules tighten. You can wait until you're forced to, in the same queue as everyone else, or you can do it now, on your own terms, with a provider that has a real record of getting people through. I know which side of that I'd want to be on.

Last one. What are you proudest of with LETiQ?

The learners who pass and then tell me they actually enjoyed getting there. That's the part that stays with me. Qualifying shouldn't feel like something you grit your teeth and survive. It should feel like a genuine step forward for your career, and that's exactly what we set out to build.
